If you’re new to anabolic steroid cycles and considering giving them a try, you’re in the right place.
In this post, I’ll share three beginner steroid cycle examples, along with some essential key points to help you protect your health and avoid common mistakes.
Keep in mind that risks and side effects are always present — including acne, hair loss, and hormonal imbalances. It’s strongly recommended to consult an expert or do thorough research before starting any cycle to prevent unpleasant surprises.
If you’re interested in understanding the science behind on-cycle and post-cycle therapy (OCT/PCT) and learning how to monitor your health during anabolic use, be sure to check out my e-book for an in-depth guide. HERE
Key Points for Beginners
-
Don’t overload with compounds.
Whether it’s your first or tenth cycle, avoid stacking 4–5 compounds. That doesn’t make sense and won’t give you better results — it will only increase stress on your body and raise the risk of side effects.
One or two compounds are more than enough to achieve solid progress. -
Avoid short esters (unless you’re a competitor).
If you’re not preparing for a competition, there’s no need to start with short esters. They require more frequent injections, which means more stress and discomfort.
Long esters will do the job efficiently for beginners. -
Understand dosage and purpose.
Remember — you need to go beyond your body’s natural production for results. I often hear people say things like “I inject every 10 days,” but that’s not effective.
If you don’t surpass your natural production, you’ll simply shut down your hormonal system for no benefit and only face side effects. -
Always monitor your health.
Regular blood work is essential. Don’t assume that because it’s your first cycle, you’re safe from side effects.
I’ve seen people end up in the hospital within three weeks of using only oral steroids.
Monitoring your hormones and organ health is non-negotiable. -
Don’t expect miracles.
Anabolics can boost recovery, protein synthesis, and performance, but they’re not magic.
Your training, diet, rest, and recovery still determine your overall results.
First Cycle Example:

This is one of the simplest and safest approaches for a first steroid cycle.
I often recommend this protocol to clients who are also on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
The key point here is injection frequency — instead of injecting twice a week (e.g., Monday and Thursday), you inject every three days.
This helps maintain more stable testosterone levels, reducing the risk of mood swings and hormonal fluctuations during your cycle.
Second Cycle Example — “Kick-Start” Technique:

In this cycle, we use the kick-start technique.
Here’s how it works: injectable steroids typically take 3–5 weeks to fully “kick in” and produce visible results.
To bridge that waiting period, we use oral steroids during the first few weeks because they start working much faster.
However, keep in mind that oral steroids can be liver-toxic, so they should only be used for the first 4–5 weeks of the cycle — no longer.
There are several ways to take orals effectively:
-
You can take 10 mg two hours before your workout and another 10 mg two hours after; or
-
You can split the dose across your meals, for example, 10 mg with each meal.
Taking orals with meals often improves absorption and reduces stomach irritation.
^instead of Anavar(Oxandrolone) you can use other oral compounds on your need of bulking or cutting goal.
Third Cycle Example — Two Compound Stack:

This cycle represents the next step for beginners, using two injectable compounds.
Combining two injectables is often done to create a synergistic effect, enhancing results when used correctly.
There are three main anabolic families:
-
Testosterone,
-
DHT derivatives
-
19-Nor compounds.
Each has its own unique effects and side effects, which you should understand before use. I’ll go deeper into this topic in my next e-book about steroid cycle structure and compound synergy.
Both compounds in this example are Enanthate esters, as I mentioned earlier — long esters are more stable and less stressful for the body compared to short esters.
This particular combination works well for a cutting phase, as Masteron can slightly enhance fat loss (lipolysis).
If your goal is bulking, you can replace Masteron with Boldenone, since Boldenone increases appetite and supports lean mass gains.
The key is to understand the purpose of each compound, its effects, and how it fits your goal.
Final Note
Never forget to monitor your body and blood work regularly.
Doing so helps you catch side effects early and maintain long-term health — which is far more important than short-term visual results.
