Sustanon 100
Active Substance: Sustanon 100
Description
What is Sustanon 100 (different name)
-
Brand name: Sustanon 100 (by Organon).
-
Type: Injectable testosterone blend.
-
Composition per 1 mL ampule:
-
Testosterone Propionate 20 mg (short ester)
-
Testosterone Phenylpropionate 40 mg (medium ester)
-
Testosterone Isocaproate 40 mg (medium/long ester)
-
This was the “lighter” version of the better-known Sustanon 250 (which has 4 esters totaling 250 mg). Sustanon 100 was intended for testosterone replacement therapy at a lower dose.
Benefits
-
Provides both fast-acting and medium-acting testosterone in one shot.
-
Maintains more stable testosterone levels than using a single ester.
-
Restores normal androgen levels in hypogonadal men.
-
In athletes, it can increase muscle mass, strength, and libido (off-label).
Side Effects
Same as other testosterone esters because it’s just testosterone in different forms:
-
Androgenic: oily skin, acne, hair loss (in predisposed individuals), increased body hair.
-
Estrogenic: water retention, gynecomastia (from aromatization to estradiol).
-
Cardiovascular/metabolic: changes in cholesterol, increased hematocrit.
-
Endocrine: suppression of endogenous testosterone production.
-
Injection site: mild pain or irritation.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
-
Combination of esters means fewer injections than pure propionate but faster onset than pure enanthate/cypionate.
-
Long clinical track record.
Cons:
-
Discontinued in many countries.
-
You’re still getting aromatization and DHT conversion, so side effects are essentially the same as any testosterone ester.
-
Because it’s only 100 mg per ampule, frequent injections are needed for supraphysiologic bodybuilding doses.
Dosage & Frequency (therapeutic vs. off-label)
-
Therapeutic: 1 mL IM every 1–3 weeks (as originally prescribed).
-
Athletic/off-label: often much higher or more frequent, but that raises side-effect risk; no official guidance exists for this.
Half-Life & Detection Time
-
The mix gives a biological half-life ~4–7 days overall (propionate ~2 days, phenylpropionate ~4.5 days, isocaproate ~7 days).
-
Detection time (anti-doping): testosterone esters can leave metabolites detectable for weeks. After a single injection you can still test positive for 3–6 weeks depending on dose and testing sensitivity.
Sterogenic / Progestrogenic / Prolactin Effects
-
Sterogenic/androgenic: yes (testosterone is the archetypal androgen).
-
Progestogenic: no—testosterone itself has virtually no progestin activity.
-
Prolactin: no direct effect, but higher estrogen from aromatization can secondarily elevate prolactin in some individuals.
Anabolic : Androgenic Ratio
For testosterone (the only active hormone here):
-
Anabolic:Androgenic ratio ≈ 100:100 (1:1)
This ratio is intrinsic to testosterone itself; changing the ester doesn’t change the anabolic/androgenic potency, just the release pattern.
