Hydroxytest

Active Substance: Hydroxytest

steroidoral

Description

What Hydroxytest Is

“Hydroxytest” (often sold as Hydroxytestosterone or 4-Hydroxytestosterone, also known as Formestane in some pharmaceutical contexts) is a synthetic derivative of testosterone. It’s basically a hydroxylated androgen. Chemically it’s a 4-hydroxytestosterone molecule.

  • It’s a mild anabolic steroid with weak androgenic effects.

  • It also acts as a suicide aromatase inhibitor (meaning it reduces conversion of androgens into estrogen).

  • It’s sometimes marketed as a “dry” compound because it produces very little water retention.

Benefits

  • Lean gains: Mild anabolic properties may promote slight increases in lean mass.

  • Anti-estrogenic effect: Because it blocks aromatase, it can reduce estrogenic side effects like gynecomastia and water retention.

  • Hardening effect: Users report a “dryer” look while using it.

  • Reduced SHBG: May increase free testosterone levels indirectly.

Side Effects

  • Suppression of natural testosterone production (though often less severe than stronger AAS).

  • Androgenic issues: Acne, oily skin, hair loss in genetically predisposed men.

  • Possible negative effect on cholesterol (HDL down, LDL up).

  • Joint discomfort from lowered estrogen (dry joints).

  • Mood/energy changes from altered hormone balance.

Pros

  • Mild anabolic with anti-estrogenic action in one.

  • Low water retention / low estrogen conversion.

  • Usually no progesterone-related issues.

Cons

  • Much weaker anabolic effect than standard testosterone.

  • Can still suppress HPTA.

  • Estrogen too low = libido issues, dry joints.

  • Limited data on long-term safety.

Dosage And Frequency

Because it’s rarely used in legitimate medicine now, all dosing is anecdotal from bodybuilding circles:

  • Oral form: 25–75 mg per day (split once or twice daily).

  • Injectable form (if compounded): 100–200 mg per week, typically split in 2 shots.
Cycles are usually 4–6 weeks due to its mildness but still suppressive nature.

Half Life And Detection Time

  • Oral half-life: ~8 hours (so twice-daily dosing common).

  • Injectable esterified forms: ~2–3 days half-life depending on ester used.

  • Detection time: WADA labs can still detect related metabolites; estimated several weeks after last dose for injectables and about a few days for oral, but no exact published number.

Sterogenic Progestronic Prolactin Affects

  • Estrogenic activity: Negligible (it’s actually anti-estrogenic).

  • Progestogenic activity: Essentially none.

  • Prolactin: No direct elevation; in fact prolactin-related gyno is unlikely.

Anabolic Androgenic Ratio

Published animal data puts 4-Hydroxytestosterone roughly at:

  • Anabolic rating ≈ 25 (testosterone =100)

  • Androgenic rating ≈ 25 (testosterone =100)

So you can think of it as roughly 25:25 in ratio terms — much milder than testosterone itself.
